OHC of the Day: Alice Eve
Alice Eve is another British stunner thats about to break out as the next sexy blonde hot chick in Hollywood. She has a few British TV roles under her belt, and was the star of "She's Outta My League" with Jay Baruchel last year. The sexy, odd couple mash-up, movie looked good but, judging by the box office reciepts most of you guys probably missed it. She is on a bit of a roll as of late, though, with a cameo in 'Sex in the City 2' and her most recently landed role.... 'Emma Frost' in 'X-Men: First Class'. Look at the comparison pic to the left, and you can see she is a good fit. I'm sure the Marvel reboot of the X-Men franchise will do well, so prepare to see a lot of Miss Eve in the future. For now, these 20 pics will have to do... enjoy!!!

Trailer Trash Talking - Vol#7 by Kristen Grillo
Well lookie here...It’s The Green Hornet trailer! Oh no! Who’s that playing The Green Hornet? Seth Rogen, you say?!? Yea, I didn’t really know what to make of that news when I first heard it either. And watching the trailer now, I still have little doubt that Rogen could successfully pull this off as convincingly as say, Robert Downey Jr. playing Tony Stark (yea so what, I'm shooting high). Although, there is an interesting supporting line up here. That could possibly make The Green Hornet worth a viewing.
I do like Rogen. I even don’t mind all his distracting little baby teeth that he’s got poppin’ outta his front window. It gives him character. But having Rogen play a crime fighter? I really just can’t make that adjustment. I will be honest. I know very little about the history of the Green Hornet. And usually I don’t like to critique something that I don’t know much about. But then I said to myself, it is my job here to critique and if I were to look at this as if it were just your regular, average movie trailer, I still can’t help but get the douche chills when watching him sitting in The Black Beauty, blasting away at the street cameras taking pictures of them running red lights. Shooting himself in the face with a gas gun. Watching him limp-kick away at bad guys. If the trailer is making me this gassy, I can’t imagine what 90 minutes of this will do to me. And it ain’t Rogen’s fault. That’s just what happens when you have a shitty casting director. And Hollywood needs to cut it out with these superhero movies already. They’re just getting terrible. Dark Knight & Iron Man proved that you can still make a great comic book/ superhero movie that appeals to both adults and children without being over the top ridiculous or a flat, cheesy cornfest. Judging by its trailer, The Green Hornet just doesn’t look like it’s going to be one of them.

Crime? Illegal Money? A Jedi Craves None of These Things. But a Hutt, Well...
BELDORIAN the HUTT
Deviant Art contributor comfycushion87 gives us his take on Star Wars saga character Beldorian the Hutt. Of his work, comfy says:
"Ah, Beldorion the Hutt. A tragic figure. The only known Hutt to escape the trappings of organized crime to become a Jedi, and what happens? He falls to the dark side and becomes the despotic ruler of an entire planet. Must run in the genes. I drew a Beldorion a few years ago, and I decided it was high time I make him look a little more badass. This is the result. Beldorion appears in the Star Wars novel, 'Planet of Twilight' Enjoy."

Alright, Alright... Ya Gotta Leave the Guy Alone Now
Michael Vick is one of the most dynamic players to ever put on a football helmet... but, due to stupid choices off the field and his decision to run a dog fighting ring, he lost everything. He lost his 100 million dollar contract, his ability to play in the NFL, and his freedom as he headed off to jail. To be honest, I was totally OK with this. He made huge mistakes, and the punishment fit the crime. But it seems nobody will ever leave the guy alone... ever.
Over the weekend, Vick was celebrating his 30th Birthday in Virginia. One of his co-defendants (one of the few who didn't rat on Vick) ,who also completed jail time, showed up uninvited to the party. Vick is not allowed to be around this person due to his parole, so his party asked the co-d to leave. He wouldn't, and he smacked cake at Vick. But Vick took the high road, already losing everything, and decided to walk away. The man was escorted out, and Vick left through the back. But then the worst thing that could happen for Vick happened... the irrate co-d got shot in the parking lot.
Now I know what you guys are going to say.... "Why cant this guy get his shit together?" And you would seem to be correct... but I feel lke this is a bit unfair. Even though what Vick did to innocent dogs was terrible, I truly believe he is sorry. He lost alot, more then most would imagine. Not only did he lose over 100 million dollars, but he also lost his freedom and reputation which, up until that point, was pretty stellar. But this time he tried to walk away as the court ordered him to. This guy who got shot is obviously a troublemaker, and caused a scene. Maybe he pissed of the wrong guy... I'm not sure. But we are a society of second and third chances. We give them to low life celebrities who take and deal drugs, drive drunk, and put peoples lives at stake like Linsey Lohan and Britney Spears. We give them to performers like R. Kelly and Michael Jackson, who were accused of pedophilia and rape... we forgive a drug addict and spousal abuser like Charlie Sheen, and then reward him by making him the highest paid actor on TV. Cut Michael Vick some slack,OK. He's not perfect, but he is far from the worst famous person out there. Should he fuck up majorly again, then throw him under the bus but, don't break his shoes for trying to leave a confrontation and celebrating his birthday. He is entitled to that.

Wizard World Philly 2010 Revisited
Story by Edson Melendez
Photos by Matt Melendez, Cynthia Leguillow and Zulleyka Ortega
Hey everyone. You don't know me yet, I've been a lurker reading C.C.D. for the past few months. I have to say that it's been fun watching a ragtag group of talented individuals mature into a...erh...ragtag group of talented indivduals? Think 'The Goonies' but more street. Nevertheless my name is Edson and hopefully you'll enjoy this brief ride with me into Geekdom.
"Comic-Con"... just the word sends shivers down my geeky spine. For the last three years I had been seeking out these gatherings of my ilk, attending 'New York Comic-Con' in 2008 and 'Wizard World Big Apple Comic-Con' in 2009. I wasn't planning on attending another convention until later this year, but when my cousin and fellow geek Matt presented the idea of heading into Philly to attend Wizard World we rallied the troops and headed south. If you've never been to a comic convention they can be quite a bit imposing. Just take a few steps in and draw a deep breath, the anxiety will pass soon.

Tributes Abound @ The 2010 BET Awards
Last night was the 2010 BET Music Awards. While I have lost interest in the show, there were some interesting tributes last night. First up, we have Chris Brown doing MJ proud in a medley featuring Billy Jean, Remember the Time, Man in the Mirror and The Way You Make Me Feel. Check the video below.
Next, we have a career spanning tribute to one of my all time favorite artists, Prince. Newcomers Janelle Monet, Esperanza Spalding, and superstars Alicia Keyes and Patti Labelle tore into some of Prince's classic cuts. The highlight is the finale where they all join Labelle to finish out the touching tribute. Plus, the medley has two of my favorite Prince songs, Lets Go Crazy & Purple Rain. If the would have got Little Red Corvette in there... well, I might have died!!! Check the video below.
Hope you guys enjoy the videos. For me, the highlights of awards shows are the allstar tributes. These were two of the best I have seen. Hope you liked them. What songs should they have performed in a tribute to MJ or Prince that were left out??? Let us know in the comment section below.

Lego Star Wars/Indiana Jones Photo Art
Photo artist, and GENIUS, Vesa Lehtimäki has an awesome array of Lego Star wars and Lego Indiana Jones photo art posted over at flickr where he also has some pretty clever captions posted for each. You can read more about him over at Wired. Apparently, he submerges the Lego figures and vehicles completely in water than sprinkles artificial snow into the tank with them creating a larger scale 'snow globe' effect. The resulting photos seem to come alive. Here's a handful of my favorites, but please check them all out!

SNL Throwback of the week #21 6/26/10
I am a huge Saturday Night Live fan. One of my earliest memories was of my parents watching SNL every Saturday while we were tucked in our bedrooms, and sometimes being allowed to watch for a bit. The show has gone through its ups and downs over its 35 year run, but the fact that it is still on the air after 35 years is a testament to the staying power of the show. Lorne Michaels is a genius at finding and developing young, comedic talent. SNL has produced a bevy of stars over the years, from Eddie Murphy to Tina Fey. The show is doing well again thanks to Ms. Fey and the rest of the team, but I love watching clips from the old shows. Every Saturday I will give you guys one of my favorites. This weeks clip features Joe Pesci as the host of The Bensonhurst Dating Game. Adam Sandler, Dana Carvey and Chris Rock are vying for the attention of a young italian lady. The only problem is... well, they dont want the black guy to win. This is so funny it hurts. I hope you enjoy. Live, from my living room... It's Saturday Night!!!

Reality Check: Summer Edition #1
Ode to the History Channel
Every TV lover knows that one of the very few bad things about the summer is the television lineup. Like you all know, I love reality shows, but I hate this Housewife crap. I just can’t get myself to watch it. I’m sorry. I tried. So one night, while flicking around in the hundreds on Fios, I stopped on the history channel where I saw a commercial for a new show called, “Top Shot.”
This show takes renowned marksmen from around the country (one guy is from England) and makes them compete in various competitions. The winner gets the title of “Top Shot” and $100,000. The cool thing is that they are not only shooting guns. They are shooting historical guns, throwing knives and shooting bows and arrows. Another cool thing is that it is hosted by Survivor Alum Colby Donaldson! Would I be watching this show if it was on in the fall? Maybe not, but I like it enough to keep watching for now! What this show did do is open me up to a world of shows on the History Channel. I actually really like Pawn Stars and American Pickers. Pawn Stars is about a Las Vegas pawnshop. They might take anything that is worth money, but I like when they focus on historical memorabilia. The other day, a guy brought in buttons that were worn at George Washington’s inauguration. Now, I know I’m a history dork, but that’s pretty cool.
American Pickers are basically two guys who travel across the country and go through people’s collections of antique things, buy certain items and then sell them for retail price. The other day they visited a cement block-making factory where the 89-year-old owner had garages filled with awesome stuff- from cars, to signs, to antique gumball machines. Mindless television, yes, but very entertaining!
So now, much like the D-I-Y channel and HGTV, the History Channel is on in the Jones household often. Try to check some of these shows out one day if you are bored. I promise you that they are not disappointing.
See you guys soon... keep watchin!!!

How Would You Look In The Pilgrimverse???
Everybody who reads this blog knows how psyched I am about Scott Pilgrim vs. The World... I can not wait for this F'n movie!!! One of the coolest things about Edgar Wright's filming process was that he kept issuing photos that paired the actors and the characters they are playing (see pic to the left). The resemblance between most of the characters is impeccable, leading many people to speculate that Wright picked his cast on their looks in relation to characters instead of acting ability. I do not know how this will effect the acting in the film, but one thing is for sure, and that's the people in the movie will look just like the ones in the comic book.
So how would you look if you lived in the Pilgrimverse? Well wonder no longer. Just click on this link here, and you will be brought to the official Scott Pilgrim Avatar Creator. Here you can design your own avatar from head to toe using Pilgrim-like attributes. You can even add weapons and accessories to accentuate your characters personality. You can then share your character on Twitter, Facebook, make it nto an IM icon, or use it as desktop wallpaper. Hurry up and make yours now!!! Here is mine:

"Artin it Up" with Tommy Lombardozzi - Just One Drawing
Hello hello.
Well, this week I have for you one drawing. I just haven’t felt inspired this week, and I have been using what free time I’ve had to rehearse for my show tonight (6/24 at Bar 4 in Park Slope- plug plug) instead of making much art. But I wanted to submit something new, so, here ya go. I call it…
“FLY-MAN DOING A CROSSWORD PUZZLE”
The title of the piece describes it all. It’s done in marker and colored pencil. Drawing bug-creatures are fun, and maybe I’ll do a whole article featuring more than one of ‘em. But for now, enjoy.
So, until next week, C.C.Degenerates…
Smile up!

You Got The Wrong "Mc" For The Part....
Dr. Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel universe, has always been a favorite character of mine. I don't know if it was the twists of magic that made me like his stories so much, or the fact that he looked exactly like Vincent Price (somebody I always was a fan of)... or maybe it was that gangsta ass high collared cape the good doctor rocks... I don't know. Although his appearance has changed over the years, the character has always been smack in the middle of all the goings on in the world of Marvel.
This week has been a hectic one for the film world of the Marvel universe. Apparently there has been some talks of doing short films of some of Marvel's second tier characters to put in front of the tentpole releases like Captain America and Thor. This way they don't have to invest 100 million dollars to see if people want a Iron Fist or Black Panther full length film. Right away, people put the Doctor on this list. But now there are grumbles about Dr. Strange getting the full fledged film treatment... and they got an idea of who they should cast.
Apparently the powers that be what a doctor to play the Doctor... or at least an actor that has played one on TV. You see, they want to cast Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey of Grey's Anatomy to play the role of the majestic magician. Now, I am a huge fan of Grey's, and I think Dempsey has grown into a high quality actor after being a teen star (that doesn't happen often)... but I think they got the wrong guy for the role. Instead of Dempsey, they don't have to look far at all. Dempsey's cast mate and fellow doctor on Grey's Anatomy, Eric "McSteamy" Dane, is the man for the job.
Physically, Dane is perfect for the part. He's got the facial hair, the build, and the arrogance that Dr. Strange possessed before he became the enlightened practitioner of magic. So, listen up Marvel... right church, wrong pew. Stay at Seattle Grace, and get us the right doctor for the job!!! If we hear anything we will keep you posted. But before we go... who do you think should play Dr. Strange? Tell us in the comment section below... we're waiting!!!

Two Shows You Should Check Out This Summer...
The spring TV season has come to an end, and in years past that would mean plenty of re-runs for us to enjoy over the summer months. It's like TV programmers want people to stop watching TV for June, July and August and then come back like loyal dogs in September for the fall lineup. But lately, summer programming on the old "boob tube" has become better and better. The networks are using this time to test shows out, and are even acknowledging that the summer is an important season to come out on top of the ratings chart. There are two shows that just started, and I watched the first episodes of both... and I enjoyed them immensely.
So there you go... only 1 show in for each of these, so don't start sending me hate mail if they suck balls. Enjoy the summer and get outside... but then come back to watch the tube!!!
The first of the shows is ABC's new horror/thriller show, The Gates. At first glance, it seems like another show trying to capitalize on the "Vampire" trend. But this is not the case... well, not really. There are vampires on The Gates. But there are also werewolves, witches, and god knows what else inside this gated community. And this gated community has got some high tech security and a fully functioning downtown area so that all the residents can stay inside and never have to leave. Throw in the mix a new chief of police, who is relocating from Chicago and a highly debated murder of a criminal, and we have ourselves a show. Is the gated community to keep the monsters out... or keep the monsters in? And whats with all the rules for monsters that do reside there? Hot piece of ass Rhona Mitra is the biggest name in this show, and she looked good as shit in the first episode. Thats reason enough to check this one out. It airs Sundays @ 10pm on ABC, and you can catch the first of it here.
The second show is a new cop program on TNT. It's called Memphis Beat, and stars Jason Lee as a detective with a bit of a quirky side. He likes to dress up like Elvis... so, thats not so bad, is it. I watched the first episode last night, and I loved it. Alfre Woodard stars as his superior officer, making this her second show on TV this summer (she is also on True Blood). They have a dynamic relationship. The show also features uber-geek DJ Qualls, who stars as a young deputy who idolizes Lee. I am a huge Jason Lee fan, ever since his days of starring in Kevin Smith movies. Memphis Beat airs on Tuesday nights @ 10 pm. You can catch the first episode here.
So there you go... only 1 show in for each of these, so don't start sending me hate mail if they suck balls. Enjoy the summer and get outside... but then come back to watch the tube!!!

OHC of the Day: Lizzy Caplan
OHC stands for Obscure Hot Chick of the day... just another beautiful actress that you may or may not know as of yet... but we are sure you will soon. Todays entry is Lizzy Caplan, and although she has been around for a minute, she has never really had that break out role. She was Lindsey Lohan's best friend in 'Mean Girls', played a supporting role as Jason Stackhouse's girlfriend in Season 1 of 'True Blood', was on the run from the monster in 'Cloverfield' and played John Cusack's destiny in 'Hot Tub Time Machine'. She was the high point of Starz Networks execellent comedy series 'Party Down'. I think she is absolutely gorgeous, and she reminds me a lot of one of my current favorite actresses, Zooey Deschanel. I hope you guys enjoy the pics. Make sure you click Read More below to see more pics of the beautiful bitty. We love Lizzy, keep on keeping on!!!

True Bloody Love by Kate Jones - Episode 3.2 - Beautifully Broken
Look, I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve always found that the second episode of any season usually sucks compared to everything else that happens. If that is the case with “Beautifully Broken” then we must know that we are in for something spectacular this season.
Bill:
The opening scene saw Bill with an ear in his mouth! Obviously this guy got his strength back after drinking some 80-year-old poorly oxygenated blood. I wonder if there is any difference between old blood and young blood, French blood and Chinese blood… obviously there is something good about Thai blood, but we’ll get to that later on. Anyway, Bill is kicking some major werewolf ass and up rides The King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington, on a horse and in full riding gear. Are all vampire royalty totally freaking eccentric, or what? This guy and his riding; Sophie-Anne and her Yahtzee… a little kooky, right? Anyway, Russell saves one of the last werewolves, Cooter, who definitely has the worst name ever for a badass biker werewolf, and shoots the one with the missing ear after finding out that they drank from “his guest.” Apparently they were only supposed to be bringing Bill to him, not drinking the sacred stuff.

Why You Should Watch Batman: City of Scars
The minute I read about the quality of this 30 minute fan made film from the father and son team of Bat In The Sun that cost $27,000 to make, I wanted to post it. But I decided that I wanted to watch it first, and this was 30 minutes long... not your typical 5 minute clip. Now, I thought it would be good considering how much praise its garnering around the net, but geeks like me tend to over exagerate a bit when something cool comes across their face. Could it really be that good??? The answer is yes... yes it is!!!
The film jumps in right after the action of The Dark Knight, and stars Batman tracking his nemesis The Joker after an escape from Arkham... The Joker is cool, and Batman looks and sounds great. But the real cool thing is the supporting characters that are featured, such as Harley Quinn, Scarface, and Mr. Zsasz. The fight scenes were cool, and all in all I do not feel that I wasted 30 minutes on this. I can not wait to see what they do with the sequel to The Dark Knight, but this will definetly hold me over for the time being. Enjoy the film and please tell me what ya think in the comments below!!!

When Movies Become Real Life...
Back in 2007 a movie named Teeth hit the market. It was about a girl that had a bit of an anomaly about her... she had a vagina that had teeth. Real fucking teeth. It was like a defense mechanism. Against my better judgement, I watched the film... and after I witnessed a few dicks catching the old guillotine treatment, I regretted it dearly.
As I have been avidly watching this years World Cup taking place in South Africa, I have heard some horror stories about the 16% of the population n South Africa that have HIV and the epidemic like amount of rapes that occur day after day. This is sad stuff... but one woman said enough is enough. This south African woman, Dr. Sonnet Ehlers, has invented a new anti-rape condom that replicates the effects of the girls vagina in Teeth... behold the Rape-Axe Condom!!!
You can't make shit like this up. The woman wears the protective condom like a tampon, and if she should happen to be raped, the condom attached barbs to the offenders junk. The barbs can not be removed by anybody but a doctor, making identification of the rapist likely to happen at the hospital. It doesn't actually prevent the rape, but it sure does make it easier to catch the animals responsible.
Now, In my research I found that they have been developing this condom since 2005, and have distributed 30,000 of them free of charge in South Africa during the World Cup in an effort to curb the amounts of rape during the overcrowded tournament. So while the movie did not actually inspire the condom, I am glad that it is accomplishing the same goals... no means no, and if you rape someone I hope you are prepared to lose Mr. Winky forever... Check this CNN video for more info.
