'Cloud Atlas': Now That Is A Movie Trailer!!!

Wow... wow! There has rarely been a time when i watched a movie trailer and was completely blown away and immediately drawn to a film in the way I am to Cloud Atlas, the new film from producer The Wachowski  Brothers & Tom Twyker. I have been hearing about this epic undertaking of a story for quite a few years, and I have been a bit intrigued. But after seeing the 1st trailer, I am all in. Why you ask? Well, it could be the cast. Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, Susan Saradon... yeah, that is a pretty good start. Tom Twyker (director of the fantastic Run Lola, Run) and the Watchowski Brothers (creators & directors of The Matrix) are a great start as well. But that is not it... it is the 6 MINUTE FUCKING TRAILER!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!! I have never, ever, ever seen a 6 minute trailer. A 3 minute trailer is usually referred to as extended.... what is a 6 minute trailer? It is epic!!!! Now I don't know exactly if this complex, time jumping storyline is going to end up awesome or end up being crapped on... but I know that this trailer has at least got my interest  up. I have often heard that the original book would be one of the hardest books to convert to film, but that didn't stop Twyker and the W brothers from giving it a college try. Check out the trailer (mini movie is more like it), poster, and a cool storyline breakdown (there are 6 storylines apparently, intertwining!) from /Film after the jump....

Classic Movie Fashion Photographed By Candice Milon

I don't claim to be an expert on photography, but I do know a cool ass project when I see one. Photographer Candice Milon obviously has talent (just look at her website for proof) as a photographer, but she entered the realm of 'Down By Law Geekdom' when she decided to photograph sets of iconic movie clothing for a series of awesome photographs. the results are awesome, with some of them being easy to catch and others harder to identify. See the collection of 7 for yourself and tell us in the comment section if you can name the film they are from. Are you up for the challenge? Check the pics out after the jump...

Gojira by Tommy Lombardozzi

CCD's resident artist Tommy Lombardozzi is finally back on here with a piece of original artwork... it's about time homie!!!! This time the kid is back with his interpretation of the classic Japanese monster Gojira... or Godzilla for all of you non sushi lovers out there. TL clearly used the original Japanese poster for inspiration, and the painting is done in marker, paint marker & spray paint on a comic book backing board. Fantastic work again my man!!! You guys need to get out to Tommy's website as soon as possible (click here) and buy some of his fantastic work, and drop him a line on Facebook telling him you seen his work here on CCD and you want to see MUCH MORE OF IT MORE OFTEN!!! Click after the jump for the full size piece...

'Popeye The Sailor': A Fan Film By Michael Valentine

The more fan films I watch, the more I realize that we are in the golden age of fan films. Cameras and production cost have increased in quality while decreasing in price, and people are taking to these fan films to develop their skills since they can disseminate them on the Internet and create a buzz. The other day I posted the excellent 'Y; The Last Man' fan film that I thought I was the best I have ever seen... but this selection is more of the garden variety type that we have become accustom to. It's kind of short (2:30 minutes) but stylistically looks wonderful... it is the Batman Begins of Popeye lore, gritty remake styling and all. I also love that director Michael Valentine stepped in front of the camera to play the Sailor Man himself. I also like that he keeps the pipe in his mouth the whole entire fight sequence. That is pretty cool. Enjoy the full fan film after the jump...

Happy Munn-Day!!!

Sometimes in order to move forward you must look backwards to the past. You got to know where you came from in order to see where you are going. Never forget your past. Yada, Yada, Yada... all of these axioms really don't mean much of anything here on CCD except that they give me the reason to flashback a bit to one of my favorite photo spreads Ms. Olivia has ever done. Munn is absolutely slaying it right now over at HBO's Newsroom, with last nights episode being one of the best to feature her yet. But I hearken back to the photo shoots of yesteryear, when Ms. Munn was a bit thicker and less likely to wear clothes in her photo shoots. I do love my Asian sensation in a bra & panties shoot...

Dr. Mierzwiak Takes On Movie Posters With His Own Unique Style

I come across many artists who ply their wares on the Net, but the thing I love to do most is to then visit the artist's particular personal page and see what else they got cooking. After seeing Dr. Mierzwiak's cool ass Avengers poster over at /Film, I decided to see what else the dude had to offer. I stumbled over to his Deviant Art page and found a treasure trove of film posters that are phenomenal. You can see them for yourself by clicking here, but after the jump I will place a few of the ones that I like best....

'The All Winners Squad': Marvel New Web Series Will Highlight Some Of It's Lesser Known Characters

Marvel just keeps making all the right decisions lately, in every aspect of their empire. They are riding high off the mega hit that was The Avengers, are gearing up to start phase 2 of their cinematic releases (Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Cap 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, and eventually Avengers 2), have some interesting TV prospects in the works (Guillermo Del Torro's Hulk series, Jessica Jones, etc) , and are wrapping up an epic crossover maxi series in their comic books featuring the two biggest superhero teams on the planet, Avengers vs X-Men. Yeah, Joe Quesada & the rest of the big wigs over at Marvel seem to be pulling all the right strings. Now they are taking to the web, and doing so with some not so familiar faces to boot. Their newest project is a web series entitled 'All Winners Squad', and it features some wonderfully obscure Marvel characters such as Howard the Duck, Frog Man, The Walrus, and Squirrel Girl. This rag tag group of heroes are coming together to face equally obscure villains in mini adventures and are being package in a way that will remind viewers of Drawn Together, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Boondocks, and the new Black Dynamite cartoon (which is awesome!). The pilot lays out the groundwork for the series, and future episodes are promised to follow shortly. I for one can't wait to see some of the minor characters get some burn. You can watch the episodes of the future here & you can check out the full pilot after the jump...

Breakfast Cereal Monsters by Lee Howard

While I consider myself to be a huge fan of the horror genre, I will gladly differ to my main man Johnny Boots from over at Freddy In Space when it comes to discovering horror related cool shit on the Internet. The guy just has a great knack for this sort of stuff, and he is always featuring cool things and running giveaways on his awesome blog. One of the most recent finds of his is a series of drawings called "Breakfast Cereal Monsters" by artist Lee Howard, which features some of our most beloved breakfast cereal iconic logos turned into horrifying monsters. I know Tony the Tiger or the Monster Cereal (Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry) guys are easy to imagine as monsters... but the Rice Krispie elves? Toucan Sam? The Trix Rabbit? Wow... wow!!! Johnny is currently running a giveaway for one of the prints on his blog that simply requires you to leave a simple comment. Get over there and try to win one. Check out my faves from the series after the jump...

The Best Fan Film I Have Ever Seen- 'Y: The Last Man' by Christian Cardona

I am constantly watching fan films on the Net, and if you are going to partake in that experience you have to be willing to put up with a few things. First of, the production value is usual shit... these guys are working on a hair of a shoestring budget. Second, the fighting/action scenes tend to be low rent. These aren't professional stuntmen for chrissakes. And finally they tend to be a bit short (usually under 5 minutes) because they can't afford longer productions. Well prepared to throw those three principles completely out the window when you watch the best fan film I have ever seen in my life. Y: The Last Man is a comic series created by Brian K Vaughn and Pia Guerra that has been kicking around Hollywood as both a movie & TV show idea. Some say the best place for it would be HBO, so that the story would have time to play out. But either way, this is a good holdover... that is for sure. The book is about a man and his monkey who survive a plague that wipes out all of the males in the world completely out. No one else with a Y chromozone except Yorick and his pet monkey. Amiss a world of chicks. Dangerous chicks. This is a high production fab film that totals over 20 minutes and is fucking incredible! Watch the full movie after the jump....

How 'The Dark Knight Rises' Really Ended... The Unseen Final Battle Between Bane & Batman!!!

Funny or Die is known for creating humorous parody videos and funny clips starring celebrities of various fame & stature. But in this one instance it seems they are taking the role of expose news, as they have apparently unearthed the 1st footage of an alternate ending of The Dark Knight Rises. In this version the final results between the Bane/Batman showdown are quite different from both the finished movie & the original comic books the movie is based on. It is quite shocking that this is the direction Nolan originally wanted to take, but those who have seen the actual film know that he scrapped this and went in a different direction. Click after the jump and see the awesome video that only Funny or Die has found. Great work guys....

The Matrix Meets Office Space

Many of us have occupied some sort of menial office job at some point in our adult life. It sucks... as evident in the classic movie Office Space. There are many memorable scenes from that classic flick that resonate with many of us... but what if Neo had worked in the office run by Lumbergh? Would his escape have gone as smoothly as it did in The Matrix? Probably not... my guess is that he would get tripped up by those pesky TPS reports! Check out this cool mash-up after the jump...

'White Man's Birden' by Fro Design

There are not many people who like Minimalistic art much more than I do. Take a simple idea and make it interesting... yup, I'll take that over floating heads and 'splosions that seem to be populating posters these days. Take 'White Man's Birden', a minimalistic homage poster for Hitchcock's classic film 'The Birds' that was made for the Gallery 1988 Hitchcock show by Fro Designs. This one is for sale over at the Fro Design website for 50.00 bucks, which may seem steep but seems reasonable after considering they are only making 15 of them! Check out the poster after the jump....

'2001: A Space Odyssey' As A Modern Summer Blockbuster

2001: A space Odyssey is one of my all time favorite films from my all time favorite director, Stanley Kubrick. 2001 is the grandfather of modern sci-fi movies, basically mapping out just how to make a science fiction movie for the next few generations of filmmakers. But what if the masterpiece itself was made today and was one of the summer blockbusters that emulate it so well? The trailer might look a bit like this. Thanks to my main man Jeff Bond for the find on this one...

'Remember Bane' by Over Think It

I love me some Bane... he has always been one of my faves in the comics (the Broken Bat storyline was one of the highlights of my teenage years) and is catching a bit of flack for being Christopher Nolan's choice for The Dark Knight Rises. Over Think It seems to love the character as well and wanted to defend him a bit, so they decided to make a tribute video entitles 'Remember Bane' set to the tune of Guns & Roses classic tune 'November Rain'. This one is great... very well done. Leave Bane alone... lol. Check out the full video after the jump...

'The Dark Knight Rises' Characters Painted In The Style Of The New Yorker Cartoons by Julian Birchman

Batman is dominating the Net after the launch of The Dark Knight Rises and there are some really cool things floating around out there based on the character. In my perusing of various webpages I came across these awesome drawings by artist Julian Birchman on his blog Sitting Too Close. Julian uses a painting style very similar to the classic New Yorker Magazine cartoons look in his work, and he has two excellent ones featuring memorable scenes from Nolan's recently released third Batman opus. The first one is from the part where Bane unmasks the Bat, and the second comes from their awesome rematch fight set among the police officer/people's army rebellion at the end of the film. Check out more of his awesome here and check out the Bat photos after the jump...

"I Like You Siri, Your Going Places" - Martin Scorsese's IPhone Commercial

I am not an Apple convert. I am not a big fan of the Ipad or Iphone, even though I am sure they are perfectly great gadgets. I know most people who join the cult of Apple very rarely venture back to the outside. But I am an Android gut through & through. But just cause I worship at the alter of Google doesn't mean I can't admire great advertising when I see. it. Here is the newest Iphone commercial, this one featuring Martin Scorsese. I love the NYC setting, Marty's NYC personality, and it happens to be the same cab number as Travis Bickle's cab number from Taxi Driver. Now that is great advertising!!! Check out the full ad after the jump...

'Batman: Nightwing' - A Fan Film by Jeremy Le & Dan Shepherd

I am on a crazy Batman high right now, so when I saw this awesome Batman fan film called 'Batman: Nightwing' I had to share it with my fellow CCDers. I think this one is extremely well done, and I love the interaction of Nightwing & Red Hood... two former prodigies of Batman still always looking for his approval.  The action is also well done, considering that the film apparently only was funded by a few hundred bucks. Click here to see their Youtube page & click after the jump to see the full video...

Just Another Reason Why I Love The Henson Company

Chick-A-Fil is a restaurant chain that I have frequented in the past. I understand that big corporations have to play the politics game, but one thing I will never understand is why a public serving company with a wide array of customers feels the need to support something so biased as opposing same sex marriage. I can understand backing democrats or republicans for various business reasosn, or getting involved in issues that effect your business directly. But same sex marriage? Doesn't really seem like the domain of a chicken restaurant, does it? Well The Henson Company is not dealing with these bigots anymore... and have issued a public statement to the public via their Facebook page disavowing any connection to the restaurant chain. Good for them. Check out the cool pic that is being circulated around Facebook after the jump...

2 Different Trailers For 'The Man of Steel', From Each One Of Superman's Pops!!!

One of the things that pissed me off the other day way that when I went to The Dark Knight Rises I was hosed on the new Superman trailer. I am not the hugest Supes fan but I am a fan of Zack Snyder, and so I will give him the benefit of the doubt with this one. It is sporting a strong cast, most notably in the area of Superman's two dads. Pa Kent is being played by Kevin Costner & Jor - El is being played by Russell Crowe. These are both guys that I absolutely adore and would pretty much watch act in anything, so if these are the two guys that shape young Henry Cavill's mind as Superman then I am definitely down from the start.   They have released two separate teaser trailers for the film, each showing the same footage but featuring different voice-overs from each of Superman's dads. pretty cool way to draw attention to the film a full year before it is released. Catch both of the trailers after the jump.

The Astonishing Ant Man by Sean Hartter

I hate the fact that my man Sean Hartter is so good at what he does, because he makes killer posters that are way better than at least 98% of the stuff that is churned out by other artists all over the Net. That is why I don't mind posting his stuff as often as I do. He just posted another killer one, this time an Ant Man poster. The Astonishing Ant Man was always one of my favorite characters and I absolutely love Hartter's rendition. Kudos once again buddy. Great is great, and I post greatness... check it out in its full size glory after the jump!!!

5 Reasons Why 'The Dark Knight Rises' Was The Greatest Comic Book Movie I Have Ever Seen: A Rant by Mike CCD

Everyone knew that Christopher Nolan was gonna bring the funk when he unleashed his 3rd Batman movie. The dude has never really disappointed with any of his films, and his last 3 (Batman Begins, Inception, and The Dark Knight) are freaking epic... so naturally I wasn't surprised that it was wonderful. But after leaving the film Thursday night/Friday morning after the midnight show and contemplating it over the weekend, I feel like this movie is by far the best comic book movie I have ever seen. Now before you geek maniacs start throwing your ergonomic keyboards at the screen and scream to your mom for more meatloaf to eat alone in your basement domain, relax for a second. I said that it was the greatest comic book movie that "I HAVE EVER SEEN"... which means it is MY OPINION. But since I am not a troll I won't just make a comment like that and then let you guys argue whether or not I am correct... I plan on giving you guys 5 reasons to back up my assertion. After reading it, some of you guys might see it my way, others may not. Even if you don't think it is the greatest comic book film ever, I'm sure anybody who sees it will love it. Enjoy the rant after the jump...

Artin' It Up: The CCD Batman Drawing Contest Edition by Tommy Lombardozzi

Hello, everyone! Welcome to ARTIN' IT UP with Tommy Lombardozzi (that's me!) It's been awhile, but I'm stopping by to say hello and to share something fun with all you CCDers out there. On the Facebook, I proposed that my friends put up a drawing of Batman (or any of his rogues gallery) in anticipation of 'The Dark Knight Rises'. Well, I got a good response and a lot of fun pieces out of it!

Mr. Mike D. suggested we post up the entries here on CCD... so, that's what we're doing.

Without further ado, here are the entries to my 'BATMAN DRAWING CHALLENGE'! It was alotta fun and I wanna thank all of those who got involved. The entries range from the comedic to the simple to the serious artist-type. Have fun... and check them all out after the jump!

Until next time...

Happy Munn-day!!!

Another week starts here at CCd and it's once again time to check in on the Asian sensation that is Olivia Munn. This weeks pics come courtesy of when my little rice patty visited Jimmy Kimmel around a week ago. Great outfit for Ms. Munn, looking very becoming of her Newsroom character. But I think its great that all of the autograph seekers are handing her bikini & underwear shots to sign and she is clearly trying to turn the corner on that to a more adult look. Can't escape the past, no matter how much you try!!! Enjoy the pics after the jump....

Image Avalanche #17 by Cal

It's summertime in the Tundra and Cal is keeping cool by finding some more great images for you to peruse this wonderful Monday. This group is a s eclectic as ever and even has some sexy female pics with hardly any clothes in them (it is summer after all!). Also the set features a yellow Daredevil pic, which in my opinion is the best costume for The Man With No Fear. Great work Cal. You can check out Cal's site by clicking here and click after the jump for the most recent collection!

10 Awesomely Sexy Gender Swapping Cosplayers From SDCC 2012

Cosplay is reaching all new heights with every convention that comes and goes. More companies are making kick ass costumes, people are becoming better at creating costumes themselves, and the creativity level has gone far past the norms of just silly Superman's & Batman's. But one of the coolest things that is happening more and more is gender swapping costumes. I am noticing more and more gender swapped characters at these things, and to be honest its a trend I am digging in full. Think about it... there are mad male characters for girls to slut up, and I would much rather see a sexy Chewbacca or Thor than a chubby nerd in those roles (even though most of those nerds have cool costumes as well!). So I decided to peruse the galleries of Cosplayers that were posted over at Dorkly and highlight the top 10 gender swaps that appeared at this years comic con in San Diego. Prepare for the sexiness... enjoy the pics after the jump!

Custom Action Figures Courtesy Of Popsfartberger

I was over at my boy Johnny's awesome horror site Freddy In Space when I came across some unreal custom action figures that he discovered on Ebay. The name of the seller is Popsfartberger... and to be honest I don't know what is cooler, the fact that his custom action figures are unreal or that his only name listed is Popsfartberger!!! Anywho, the actual custom figures are insane and feature some of the dopest movie characters of all time. Even though they can be kind of expensive (they average around 49.00 bucks) when you take into consideration that you are getting a custom 3 3/4 inch action figure as well as a spectacularly designed front and back backing card.... well, the money/cost starts to make a ton of sense. he has a ton of figures on his Ebay page (click here to see his wares) and they feature a Buy It Now price so you won't have to worry about haggling with other auction users. This is a great gift for any real fan of these films, so keep them in mind for future gift purchases. I featured the ones I liked the best personally after the jump...

The Incredible Hulk TV Movies Get a Poster Via Sean Hartter

I haven't featured my boy Sean Hartter's work here on CCD because he hasn't been releasing stuff with his regular frequency as of late. I know that is because he is busy becoming a huge artist with international fame and fortune (remember CCD when you are living the life of a jet setting poster artist SH!), but this week he seems to be back on his grind posting stuff on his cool ass website. One of the coolest pieces he posted this week is his dual poster for the classic Marvel TV Series The Incredible Hulk. We get both The Return of the Incredible Hulk & The Trial of the Incredible Hulk... yup, both the 1st appearances of Thor & Daredevil!!! This is so freaking awesome... you gotta love this kind of stuff. Check out the full size poster after the jump...

Lesson of the Evil Teaser Trailer... Takashi Miike Time Baby!!!!

Takashi Miike is one of my favorite directors... and that is a big statement considering how much of a film nut I am. I have loved almost all of his previous films because of their cooky and weird quirks and overall amazing look. Audition, Ichi the Killer, and Sukiyaki Western Django are all stunning examples of how talented Mr. Miike could be... and this guy is always working! Following up his 2010 13 Assassins is an adaption of the Japanese book 'Aku No Kyoten', or 'Lessons of the Evil'. Now this trailer may start off like a typical feel good education story, but since this is a Miike film you know that it is going to turn left... a hard left!!!! Check it out after the jump....

The Hills Have Eyes by Daniel Bressette

I love when people mash up two things that have absolutely nothing to do with each other and pull it off. Daniel Bressette does just that with his awesome 'The Hills Have Eyes' piece. He takes the title of an awesome horror film (even the remakes were good) and that mashes it up with the most unexpected yet appropriate Nintendo item you could think about. Click after the jump and laugh at the 8 bit masterpiece....

'Ninja Turtles: An Animated Tribute' by Malcolm S

I love me some Ninja Turtles, and it seems that animator Malcolm S loves them too. How do I know? Because he created a bad ass animated tribute to the 4 green machines and their rat mentor Splinter that gets back to the roots of the characters (for one thing there are no face bandannas... like the first comic book). All in all a fun little piece of well done animation. Check it out after the jump...

Who The Hell Is Rita Ora & Why Is She So F@#king Hot???

I have been hearing a pop song called 'How We Do' (Party & Bullshit) being played on the radio for over a month now. But since MTV & other music networks don't play music videos anymore (wtf is up with that anyway?) I have never seen the video for the song. But that changed early this morning and I saw the video, and good god this Rita Ora chick is smoking hot!!!! I think I have a new crush. I am loving this sexy little bastard... and the song is catchy as fuck as well. Enjoy the song as well as some pics of this beautiful 21 year old (yup, she is legal!!!) after the jump...

Here Is Some Comic Book Movie News I Can Get Behind!!!

As a true geek I am eagerly anticipating as many comic book movies as humanly possible. I don't give a flying fuck about overkill... as far as I am concerned I have been waiting on quality made comic book movies my whole life. They just seemed to start getting them right around 2000 with X-Men, so I'll take as many as I can get my hands on. Given the fact that these films are making big bucks, it is refreshing to see studios putting together stellar casts to staff the films. Some recent announcements on the comic book movie front have me quite excited. Click after the jump to hear my thoughts on Captain America 2, Lobo, and Ant Man.

'Punisher: Dirty Laundry' - A Punisher Fan Film Featuring Thomas Jane!!!

If I was a big time movie star with big money I would spend many of my off days doing shit like this. Thomas Jane portrayed Marvel Comics favorite vigilante The Punisher in a big screen film back in 2004. It wasn't a great film (John Travolta's villain was a joke) but featured some great action scenes, especially the family BBQ massacre. Turns out Jane is a huge fan of The Punisher and just because there was never a sequel made featuring Jane doesn't mean that he can't still flex his muscles a bit in the character. 'Dirty Laundry' is a very cool short that brings Jane back into the fold as The Punisher & even features a cameo from Hellboy himself, Ron Pearlman. This one has good action, a developed story for a short, and shows the best parts of Jane's version of the iconic character. Hopefully somewhere in the future we will finally get a Punisher film that gets the character correct the way this short did. Check out the video after the jump...

Pulp Avengers by Calamity Jon

I am a sucker when modern characters are re-imagined into old style projects. Calamity Jon is an artist who hit this idea right square on the head when he decided to take some of the lesser known Avengers (Wasp, Black Widow, Power Man) and fold them into pulp novel type stories. These covers look spectacular, and I would definitely read these books based on their tag lines alone. I am especially intrigued by the bonus in this series, DC Comics favorite space man Strange being written by Robert Heinlein (the author of Starship Troopers). That would be epic all the way around. Click here to see some excellent info on the source material of these covers, and check out all 5 after the jump...

Game of Thrones Meets Marvel vs Capcom... Fight!!!!

My main man Joe Fletch and I shared many hours of our year in college living together playing video games. The one that we played the most was definitely Marvel vs Capcom II. We played that game a hell of a lot... well, actually, that isn't totally true. The majority of the time we spent playing that game involved Joe repeatedly kicking my ass. I never won a round... ever! But he was abnormally good, and it made me a better player. One of my favorite aspects of that game had to be the help you could call in from your teammates. It made who you picked to be on your team really, really important. That brings us to some fantastic Game of Thrones fan art from Dynamaito. He constructed a MvC style fight between Lannister Lions Cersei & Tyrion, but it is their back up that makes the picture so cool. Tyrion has the hard striking Bronn to help him defeat his sister, while Cersei has soft ass Joffrey cowering behind her... a real life version of 'back up'!!! This is a great rendition of a game I would love to play. Check out the pics after the jump...

'Call Me, Maybe' Sung By The Cast Of Star Wars

Carly Rae Jepsen's pop masterpiece 'Call Me, Maybe' is a juggernaut of a song that is probably the catchiest tune ever written. Hear it just one time and the simple lyrics & melodic tune will be embedded into your brain forever. But part of the reason the song is sticking around so long is because of the variations that people are coming up with in various parodies around the 'Net. I have seen Cookie Monster, Barack Obama, and many others supercut into singing the catchy tune, but nothing comes close to this epic supercut featuring the extensive cast of the Star Wars saga. My favorite part has to be the second verse when they go into subtitle mode and bring in some of Lucas's original alien languages. Pretty cool video after the jump....

Happy Munn-Day!!!

With Comic Con weekend coming and going I knew there would be some cool pics of my favorite Asian geek girl Olivia Munn joining the festivities. Turns out the guys over at Just Jared caught up with my little Asian pear at the Entertainment Weekly party where she was partying with the likes of Anna Kendricks, Emily Clarke, and others. You gotta love how geek chic the sexy lady looks in her bun and sexy heels. Take a quick look after the jump for the latest bit of Munn in your life....

Banksy's Street Art... Brought To Life!!!!

My main man Jeff Bond sent me this really cool article detailing the work of New Zealander Linda Radosinska. Linda is a photographer who has decided to recreate some of Banksy's most iconic stencils into real life re-enactments that she set up and photographed. The project is called 'Exit Through The Thrift Shop', and obvious play on the Banksy mockumenatry/documentary 'Exit Through The Gift Shop'. As someone who thinks Banksy's art is quite cool but not someone who knows all that much about his work, I think this photo project is inspired and well played. It is an excellent way to pay homage to the man while at the same time showing just how great his art could be if it was to jump off the wall and come to life. Check out the photo project pics and some of the original art that inspired the project after the jump....

Finally!!!! A Teaser Poster & Film Synopsis For Edgar Wright's 'The World's End'

As the self proclaimed "World's Biggest Edgar Wright Fan" I have been eagerly awaiting the third installment in his Blood & Ice Cream trilogy with Simon Pegg & Nick Frost. Shaun of the Dead & Hot Fuzz are two of my all time favorite flicks of all time. So obviously I am super excited to see what they have in store for us in 'The World's End'... and now we have a teaser poster & synopsis for the movie. Holy fucking shit, this one sounds epic. Check out the poster & synopsis after the jump...

Game of Thrones by Martin Ansin

While I don't plan on dwelling on too much that happened at SD Comic Con this past weekend (check out the sites who actually sent people... the ones I am jealous of!!!!) I have to bring certain things to the attention of the CCD readers. Mondo is cool as shit, and to prove this one step further they did three Game of Thrones related posters specifically for the show. While all three of them were really quite cool, Martin Ansin's poster has to be the best of the bunch. It features an excellent portrayal of the House Sigils of the Lannisters, the Baratheons, and the Starks all doing battle. I really love the symbolism in this piece... really cool stuff. You can check out the other two Game of Thrones posters by clicking here, and you can see Ansin's piece in all it's glory after the jump.

Movie Posters Recreated Using Star Wars Figures by David Egers

Star Wars figures are iconic, and have been a integral part of kids lives since the first movie came out in 1977. Some of my favorite toys when I was a kid were the ones that were contained in my Darth Vader head carrying case, and I know I am not the only person between 30 and 40 who feel the exact same way. Artist David Egers decided to use his old Star wars figures to create some awesome art, most notably some excellent movie poster recreations. David has a ton of stuff on sale over at his Red Bubble site, so make sure you check those out. These come from his 365 Days of Star Wars website, which you can see by clicking here. Check out my faves after the jump...

Justice League of the Round Table by The Comic Fan

My main man Cal up in Canada sure does find some gems to post on his awesome blog The Cave of Cool. One of the cooler things he has posted in the past few weeks has got to be these medieval renderings of The Justice League of America by a Deviant Artist who goes by The Comic Fan. I love the way he recreated each individual character in a way that befits their counter parts of King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table. Pretty great detail and innovative ideas on how to make the more mystical characters like Martian Manhunter & Green Lantern into Knights without sacrificing their original looks. I would love to read a book like this from DC in the vein of Marvel 1602, especially if Neil Gaiman was writing it. All around pretty cool. Thanks for another winner Cal... check out the pieces after the jump!

Game Of Mushroom Kingdoms by Titan 413

Game of Thrones is at the height of its popularity due to the hit HBO TV series, and people are discovering George R. R. Martin's popular book series even more now. So how could you make it even cooler? Well, if you are artist Titan 413 you can simply Mario-ize it!!!! Check out this awesome map of Westeros done in the style of a Super Mario Brothers 3 map. This is awesome even if you don't know all the little ins and outs of Martin's world, but if you do it is even cooler. I love the land beyond The Wall & The Twins the best. Check out the full size image after the jump...

Pregnetheus by James Lee

Prometheus is a polarizing film... probably the most polarizing film of the summer. Some love what Ridley Scott created, others really hate it. Either way, there are some really cool scenes in the film that people of both opinions probably like. One of those scenes has to be the surgery/abortion scene, in which Elizabeth Shaw excises a certain alien baby squid from her stomach in a surgery machine. It is epically brilliant, but animator James Lee thought he could amp up the action in it a bit. So he created Pregnetheus. Yup, I just typed that title!!! Check out the cool animated short after the jump whether you liked the film or not....

More 2012 Comic Con Exclusives From Gallery 1988

As we sit on the precipice of San Diego Comic Con one more time, I am getting more and more aggravated by the amazing exclusives that are being offered to con goers. Getting in on the act next is Gallery 1988, the Cali based art mecca who constantly pushes the envelope with their awesome shows monthly. They have tapped artists New Flesh & Mark Englert to produce posters for two of the 80s best Sci Fi movies. New Flesh has created a poster based on The Last Starfighter (a truly underrated movie that most 80s babies like me adore) & Englert created a killer Aliens poster that features the scene when the Xenomorph is expelled by Ripley into space. Both of these poster are of very limited quantity & are only available at the con. Stop bye Gallery 1988 at booth #405. They also have other artists and exclusives appearing, so check them out. You can see The Last Starfighter & Aliens pieces after the jump....

Who Watches The Simpsons? by Chris Weiermiller

Every time I find out that one of my fellow geek friends has NOT read Watchmen I freak the fuck out and immediately try to get them my copy to read. Simply put, it is a right of passage that needs to be experienced by anyone who reads comics. As much as I think Alan Moore is a tool, he really killed this story and created some wonderful characters that have stuck with for over 20+ years. Another stallworth of the entertainment industry has been The Simpsons. I really haven't watched the show consistently over the past 10 years, but all I know is if you have 20+ years on the air you are doing something right. So of course it would be great to get these two properties together in a mashup by artist Chris Weiermiller. The character selection in a mashup is key, and Chris certainly nailed it with this piece. Maggie as Roscharch? Yup... I'm in!!!! Check out the full piece after the jump...

Country Goes Geek: Check Out The Zac Brown Band's Newest Video That Is Directed By Mike Judge!!!

I am not really a huge fan of country music, but working at The Irish Haven (my buddy Matt's bar in Sunset Park, Brooklyn) over the past year has exposed me to a few artists I kind of like. Toby Keith, Allan Jackson, and others are now on my radar thanks to the awesome jukebox we have there... but my favorite song on the whole jukebox has to be 'Chicken Fried' by The Zac Brown Band. It is a great song from a talented band, and since I was exposed to them I have gotten into their music. But now the gang has taken an even bigger step towards ingratiating themselves with nerds like me. Their newest video for 'The Wind' is an animated masterpiece that features something called "Robo Redneck" and is directed by Mike Judge, the creator of Beavis & Butthead!!! Throwing axes, backwoods distilleries, trucks with oversized tires... yup, all the redneck staples are here!!! This is epic. The animation style is cool, and I really like the song as well. Check out the clip after the jump and try to expand your musical horizons....

Land of the Lost (Comic Con Exclusive) by Tom Whalen

Another day, another San Diego Comic Con exclusive announced. Tom Whalen is one of my favorite artists in the game right now, and he makes some great work. He will be appearing at the Huckleberry/Toddland booth (#3449) alongside Tim Doyle & David Perillo during the con. One of the pieces he will be selling is his excellent Land of the Lost piece, which will come in two versions (the regular Green version for $60 bucks and the variant Purple piece at $85 bucks). Stop by and check out these three artists works if you are in the building, because their stuff is absolute fire. I love that Whalen decided to take on one of my favorite childhood shows in Land of the Lost and use that for his Comic Con exclusive. Check out both prints after the jump...

Super Golden Friends by Kevin Bapp

I was over at Topless Robot (wow, Rob does run a great site!) and I seen this awesome animated trailer that mashes up Super Friends with the Golden Girls. I honestly didn't wake up this morning ever thinking that I was going to type a line like that... but running a blog like CCD makes things like that possible! I love quirky videos like this, and you gotta love the character choices. Superman as Blanche is probably the funniest...  It seems the animation was rotoscoped over the actual opening credits of the show ala A Scanner Darkly/The Polar Express (I am fairly certain that the Superman/Blanche sache and Robin/Sophia at the front door were exact scenes from the opening scene) Check out the video after the jump!!!

My Neighbor Totoro by Masse Hjetman

Wow, I love it when doing CCD brings cool new artists to my attention. As anyone who has a twitter account knows, every once and a blue you get an email saying you have a new follower. More often than not (at least on my end) it is some sort of spammer, but yesterday I got hit up by a Swedish graphic artist by the name of Masse Hjetman. I clicked the link to his page and came across some great minimalistic style movie posters... there were some popular movies (Titanic, Fight Club, Star Wars) & some others not so popular (High Fidelity, Almost Famous)... but it was his most obscure piece that I loved the most. His design for the Japanese animated film My Neighbor Totoro is excellent!!!! Totoro is one of my favorite animated films from my childhood (Hayao Miyazaki FTW!!! )and brings back great memories for me, as it was one of the first foreign films I seen and lead to my love of international cinema (Akira was a big part of that as well). Check out Hjetman's work by clicking here and here and see his amazing Totoro piece after the jump...
