The Doctor Is Back... And I Have The Posters From The BBC To Prove It!!!!!

With the upcoming series 7 premiere of Doctor Who about to hit the airwaves this weekend (Sept 1st), BBC has released posters for the 5 episodes that will air in the first part of this season. That will take us to a break and another trusty Christmas Special, with the second half of the season coming back in 2013. The posters offer some clues as to what to expect from the upcoming adventures of the Doctor as well as Rory & the salacious Amy Pond, who I absolutely want to shag the police girl uniform off of (My fellow Whovians now just what outfit I am talking about!!!!). These episodes also mark the departure of Amy & rory... and boy am I sad to see Sexy Red go. If you are a bit behind, you can catch up on all 6 seasosn of Doctor Who on Netflix Instant. Check out the posters after the jump and tune in for all the season premiere Saturday night...

Goose Mckenzie... You Stay Away!!!

I love me some College Humor, especially when they are taking on The Dark Knight. This is their version of how the 1st encounter between Scarecrow & Batman really went in Batman Begins. Honestly, I can undertsand being afraid of Girl Scouts (he is a billionaire, who needs accusations of improper touching)... but Rhumba's and Shooter McGavin? Yup, those are odd fears. The Scarecrow is fanatstic as well. Check out the video after the jump...

Cloverfield Rebooted by Electric Sheep Comix

I came across this comic strip of a Cloverfield Reboot over at Electric Sheep Comix and was blown away by the direction that they decided to take this reboot in. A monster full of cake? That can't turn out BAD, can it? This definitely ain't the kind of monster I saw ripping apart the Brooklyn Bridge... lol! Check out the full comic strip after the jump...

This Back To The Future Mod Makes me Want To Play Grand Theft Auto For The First Time In Years...

I haven't really played many games outside of the realm of super hero games like Ultimate Avengers & Batman or sports games in the past 5 years. But I do remember the good old days of Grand Theft Auto and just how crazy it could be. When you add in Marty McFly, the Delorean, and the ability to travel throughout time into the equation and you are in for one sweet treat. Check out the video that TL sent me after the jump and lets hope we finally get a Back To The Future game that we can get behind....

CCD Links It Up - Vol #3

Click after the jump to read some really cool stories from around the Internet. CCD gets name dropped by one of my favorite artsits during an interview, Terry Richardson is back to his old pervert ways,

Fuck Beats by Dre... I'm Going With Boobs by Upton For My Headphone Needs!!!!

So it looks like everyone's favorite bikini wearing, ginormous boob having, hip hop dancing bombshell Kate Upton is back... and this time she is helping to hawk a new line of headphones from Skull Candy. I gues Skull Candy was tired of taking a backseat to Beats by Dre in the overpriced headphone market and decided to bust out the big guns -two of them specifically (see what I did just there...)- to take down the competition. I for one am up for a purchase if I get to peruse Kate in a bikini while I'm shopping in their online store. Damn, I can't take her. Click here to order your own headphones and here to see Upton's photos for the campaign...

Iron Man's Drunk Again...

I love the videos that the guys over at Dorkly post, mostly because they take cool nerd tidbits and turn them into classic originals. Take this riff on Marvel vs. Capcom that has Spidey calling on Iron Man for a teammate assist, only for Tony to show up all 'Demon In A Bottle-d' up and unable to help at all. Love the Jill Valentine cameo as well... Check out the video after the jump.

League of Extraordinary Gentlepersons 1996 by The Mighty God Kings

Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentleman is an interesting oxymoron. The stories themselves are based on literary characters of the past that have hit public domain (people like Alan Quartermain, Captain Nemo, Mr. Hyde, etc) and have been re-purposed by Moore into new modern adventures. What makes this an oxymoron is that Moore is constantly bashing DC Comics (the company that owns the rights to most of his earlier works like Watchmen & V for Vendetta) for using his characters in ways that he would never use them. I wonder if H. Rider Haggard, H.G. Wells, and Robert Lewis Stevenson would approve of Moore's version of their classic characters. But I digress... The guys over at Mighty God King have decided to show us what a future inclination of the League might look like if the team was formed in 1996. The story would revolve around Edward Scissorhands, Nancy from The Craft, Tequila Yeun, Dana Scully, Zack Morris, and Rufus from Bill & Ted's excellent Adventure. I also love the potraits of past team members from the 80s/90s. Sledge Hammer? Max Hedrom? Yup, I would read the shit out of this book and not give two fucks what the original creators of these characters think about it. Great piece of art. Check out the guys wonderful website here and click after the jump for a full size version of the piece...

Courageous Cat by Tommy Lombardozzi

Guess who's bizzack.... back on CCD with some smoking new artwork. My main man Tommy Lombardozzi hit me with a blast from the past yestterday when he sent me an awesome piece featuring a character tha I loved when I was a kid, Courageous Cat. Tommy took the time to create his CC piece in the vein of the classic cover to Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. You can see some comparison photos after the jump as well as a video for all you youngsters who might not know exactly who Courageous Cat is/was. Tommy has a ton of art for sale over at his site, so click here and buy some shit. Keep these great pieces coming TL!!!! Pics & video after the jump....

Now This Is How You Cosplay....

If you are interested in getting into the cosplay game, meet Abbie Soule and take some notes. This young lady absolutely slayed a Ramona Flowers getup that had me swearing that I was looking at Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the flesh. The costume is perfect, the hair and accessories are spectacular, and the angelic face is a thing of beauty. You want more proof as to the fact that this is one of the greatest cosplay efforts ever? How about the fact that Bryan Lee O'Malley, creator of the Scott Pilgrim comic book series, reblogged her photoset!!!! Now that is the ultimate compliment. Check out her blog here and other cosplay efforts of hers here, and take a look at her Ramona Flowers get up after the jump. I would fight a League of Evil Ex's for this girl any day...

Pixar Presents The Expendables 2

This one goes out to my main man Jeff who has been eagerly awaiting the release of The Expendables 2. the only way I could dream of possibly improving on the action tentpole smash would be by incorporating Woody and the rest of the toys from the toybox into megawatt action segments. Great mashup video From the guys over at IGN. Check out the video after the jump...

Nolan's Batman Trilogy Gets Posterized by Florey

Artist Florey has created a set of spectacular posters in honor of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy and I really like them... a lot!!! I love the softness of the images and the muted color palette that Florey employs with each one of these posters. My favorite of the bunch is Batman Begins, because it prominently features The Scarecrow (the best character in all three movies as far as I am concerned). Check out all three of the posters in full detail after the jump...

Image Avalanche #18 by Cal From The Cave of Cool

My main man Cal from Canada is back and he has a collection of images to really knock your socks off. With the summer winding down it is great way to enjoy the day. Thanks for another great collection Cal. Check out his blog for more of the coolness that Cal brings to the 'Net every day. Check out the pics after the jump...

Skate Upton: The Coolest Tumblr You Probably Never Heard Of

A few months back I heard about a cool new Tumblr blog by the name of Skate Moss, which superimposed pictures of Kate Moss on skateboard decks. It was a pretty cool way to highlight the sexiness of Moss and appeal to the asthetics of skateboarders. Not only that, but the page was open to submissions and even provided you with both a vertical & horizontal blank decks for you to customize in Photoshop. But all things evolve... and with evolution we strive for perfection. I give you Skate Upton, which of course features CCD's favorite swimsuit model Kate Upton on skateboard decks. I didn't think they could cram all of Upton's ample curves onto a deck, but that problem was solved by some of the geniuses who created pieces by breaking an image up over multiple boards. God dam I love this girl. I really hope there is a celebrity porn tape in her future. One can wish... Check out the pics I like best after the jump....

Hearts Of Dorkness Trailer: The Movie About The Movie About The Opening Night Of Star Wars...

This is an interesting story right here. Patrick Johnson is a director who is almost finished with his pet project of a film entitled 5-25-77, which chronicles the misadventures of a group of teens on the opening night of the original Star Wars movie. This sounds like a really great concept for a film and something that I would like to see very much. But Johnson is having a bit of trouble raising the last bit of money needed to finish the film, so he decided to take the unfinished version of 5-25-77 on the road and screen it for some fans to raise the funds himself. While on this cross country trek, Johnson has a group of friends who decided to film the whole roadshow experience and it has morphed into ANOTHER documentary parallel film entitled Hearts of Dorkness (I love the homage to the documentary made about Apocalypse Now in the title and the font they used as well). How great is this? Not only are we getting a fantastic indie film about the opening night of Star Wars, but in his quest to finance the film himself Johnson has inspired a whole separate film... the more dorky films that exist, the better the world is. Check out the trailer for Hearts of Dorkness after the jump, which is really a de facto promo for 5-25-77... its all really confusing...

Where The Amazing Things Are by Tanoshi Boy

I love everything that has a touch of Where The Wild Things Are in it, so when Jeff sent me this awesome rendition of Spider Man doing his best Max impression I knew that I just HAD to post it. Artist Tanoshi Boy hit a home run with this piece, but I only have one simple complaint about it. If he would have just added one more villain to the mix (Hobogoblin, Vulture, or maybe Carnage?) then we would have had a true to form Sinister Six of Wild Things. But it is still a pretty sweet piece even if its one villain short. Check out the full size piece after the jump...

All Hail The Queen: Amazing Behind The Scene Photos From 'Aliens' Showing Stan Winston & His Team Making FX Magic...

Ever since the release of Prometheus a few months back we have seen an amazing renewal of interest in the Alien movie franchise. I would contend that this connection is made because people wanted to re-visit the older movies after watching the prequel movie (fuck you Jeff... Prometheus IS A FUCKING PREQUEL TO ALIEN!!!)... I know I certainly did, rewatching all four full length Alien movies after watching Prometheus in the theater. When interest in something is shown, a good property owner will put his merchandise into the market to be consumed by eager customers. Take the Stan Winston School of Character Arts and the plethora of unrerleased set phots they released of the master himself (Stan Winston) making movie magic by creating the Alien Queen for Aliens. It is one of the most terrifying creatures ever created, and when you see the massive 10 ft plus monster that Winston created... well, lets just say you will have some great insight into one of the greatest monsters ever to grace a screen. There is also a great in depth article about each pic on the Stan Winston School's page (click here). Check out the set of pics after the jump...

Lego 'Lord of the Rings: Can Anything be Any Cooler Than This Game?'

Wow. Just wow. I have been hearing about the Lego game based on the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I must say that after seeing this trailer I am truly blown away. These Lego games keep getting better and better, and I love the humor of this particular ad. Nice touch by having Gandalf narrate the commercial as well... Check out the trailer after the jump!

Cartoon Styled Movie Posters by Ive Bastrash

One of my favorite cartoons back in the day was the Beetlejuice cartoon. I loved it because it expanded the universe of the movie and gave us a cool look at some of the awesome characters that were put forth in the movie in a new cartoon style. Artist Ive Bastarsh has taken a cue from the idea of cartoonizing (I know that is not a word... so what?) some of your favorite movies & their characters and came up with a killer series of posters to take a look at what these films would look like if they were cartoons. Well done... well done indeed. You can take a look at more of his work by clicking here to get onto his Deviant Art page & you can see the ones that I like the best after the jump...

You To Can Have Your Very Own Bat Cave... For A Hefty Price That Is!!!

In the wake of Nolan's excellent Batman trilogy there have been all types of cool Batman things popping up from super fans out there. But what happens when you are a super fan of Batman and have major money to back up your obsession? Well, this home theater that is made in the vein of the Batcave is the kind of stuff that happens!!!! Holy shit, this is amazing!!!! You got the bookshelf that opens up to reveal the Batmobile, you have the giant screen like the one Bruce uses to work out all of his cases, you have the most amazing replica cave ceiling I have ever seen in my life... this is just a stunning way to watch TV. I can't think of a better way to watch Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney or Christian Bale kick some bad guy ass... check out the detailed picks after the jump...

'Baby Got Back' Sung By Your Favorite Movie Characters

Everybody knows the Sir Mix-A-Lot classic song entitled 'Baby Got Back', which exudes the virtues of a woman with a large buttocks. It has been parodied, featured in mainstream TV & movies, and is one of those songs that even your grandmother probably knows the words to. But when the gang over at Don Draper Says What has put together an excellent montage of many familiar movie characters uttering the words to the song... when strategically placed one after another that is!!! Plus you gotta love the final contributor.... Check the video after the jump.

Happy Munn-Day!!!

Oh my, Ms. Munn is riding high right now. She is killing it on The Newsroom, has a indy film out in that is getting good reviews (The Babymakers), and is still looking as stunning as ever when making puclic appearances!!! Her most recent jaunt around town was to attend the 2012 Do Something awards, and for that event she chose a sexy pink dress and some interesting 0polka dot nail art. Thanks to The Cut we have some great pictures for you Munn fans to obsess over. Check em out after the jump...

CCD Links It Up Vol #2

Click after the jump to see more of whats happening around the Internet. These stories are all cool as hell in their own way, but couldn't make up a whole post here on CCD on their own. Enjoy....

'The Original Star Wars Trilogy Re-Imagined As Westerns by Timothy Anderson

Timothy Anderson is a poster artist that has had some great ideas in the past. He killed some of Science Fictions greatest films as pulp novels (I featured him on Director's Live a while back), and now he is making the rounds with some wonderful Star Wars original trilogy posters in the vein of Western films. These posters channel the spaghetti western film posters of the past and are absolutely stunning. He is also selling these puppies in a crazy huge 24 x 36 inch poster format for just 40 bucks a piece, and you can score all three for 100 bucks. That is a wonderful price for prints that size, and I think the three of them would make a nerd wall much more complete. I think it is great that Anderson chose to highlight some of the m,ore minor moments of the films to use as subject for the posters, such as the stand off between Han & Greedo for Star Wars. I also like that he went with the Italian language on the posters. Real classy stuff... You can check out & buy more of Anderson's work by clicking here and see the Star Wars posters after the jump...

'The Man With The Iron Fists' - 2nd Red Band Trailer Introduces Some Of The Warriors In The Movie

Rza is and has been one of the most experimental people in the entertainment industry. He has put music to the side and entered the world of film with a bang. He has mostly appeared as an actor, but now he is about to take a turn as a writer & director of his first feature film 'The Man With The Iron Fist'. There has been a short teaser trailer released, but now we get a full on red band trailer that also introduces some of the crazy looking characters by name. Jack Knife? Madame Blossom? Brass Body? The Blacksmith? Holy shit am I looking forward to this one!!!! Add in producers like Eli Roth & Quentin Tarantino overseeing the production and this one has all the makings of a cult classic before it ever shows on a screen. The film comes out November 2nd. Check out the 2nd trailer after the jump...

HRG Trooper by Thomas Spanos

The 'As You Wish Helmet Project' is an excellent idea for a charity project. A ton of artists grabbed Star Wars themed helmets (Boba Fett, Clone Troopers, Vader, etc) and personalized them in a unique style... and then these one of a kind helmets will be auctioned off to raise money for the make a wish foundation. They will be highlighted at this years Celebration VI and will be up for auction on August 23rd. One of the coolest pieces I have seen so far has to be Thomas Spanos HRG Trooper helmet, which mashes up Darth Vader with H.R. Giger's Alien Xenomorph. So f'n perfect, this one should fetch a pretty penny. Show Thomas some love on his Facebook page and check out the detailed photos after the jump...

OHC of the Day: Paulina Gretzky

When you have a dad that is nicknamed 'The Great One' and a godfather that is known as the savior of hockey in New York City, you certainly come from good stock. Such is the case with Paulina Gretzky, daughter of Wayne Gretzky & god daughter to Mark Messier. But when I say she comes from good stock, I had no idea that just because her father was the greatest hockey player of all time he would sire one of the hottest creatures on the f'n planet!!! Youngster Paulina is pretty hot, but is also quite talented. She is a classically trained singer and has her first album coming out on Universal Records later on this year. She is also about to make her movie debut in Grown Ups 2, and despite the fact that I am not looking forward to that steaming pile of shit as a movie I am looking forward to seeing Paulina and her twin boob cannons in that green bikini that leaked in the set photos this week (yup, its after the jump!). She is also making the rounds in all the lad mags and uses her Twitter & Instagram for exactly what they were intended for... posting nearly naked bikini pics of herself and her drunken hot friends. Either way, I am thankful to Wayne for giving us this beautiful creature. Remember where you seen her first... as CCD's Obscure Hot Chick of the Day!!!! Pics after the jump...

CCD Links It Up - Vol #1

I surf the 'Net alot, but not every cool ass thing that I come across can be turned into a CCD post. So I am starting a post where I can include a few cool ass links that you may be interested in. These tidbits are really cool and if you like what we do on CCD then you are sure to like them. Tell them that Mike CCD sent ya!!!! Enjoy the links after the jump...

CCD Supports The 'Batman Art Auction' To Benefit The Victims Of The Aurora, CO Shootings

I remember coming home on the opening night of 'The Dark Knight Rises' and not being able to go to bed despite the fact that it was well past 3 am in the morning and I had work at 8 am. I turned on the news and was shocked to hear early details about the tragic shootout that occurred at the Aurora, Colorado screening of the film. I sat there in awe, thinking back on how many of the billions of midnight shows I have attended and how much it would suck to get shot while trying to enjoy an early screening of a film. So when a friend of mine named Kim Gordon hit me up on Facebook and told me about an awesome Batman Art Auction that she was contributing to with all the proceeds going to victims of the shooting I just knew I had to help spread the word. So make sure you check out the official page here & here, as well as the Ebay page that has a few items for sale already by clicking here. There are some solid pieces so far, most notably an original interior page from artist Walk Flanigan from his Kevin Smith written Batman mini series The Widening Gyre. That is pretty pimp. Kim created an awesome piece that features Batgirl (it will be up soon for sale) and I am going to be sending the link out to some of CCD's artist friends (Tommy Lombardozzi, Anthony Picone, Sean Hartter, etc) to urge them to contribute a piece to this fine cause. Pony up and buy something to support the victims of a this horrible event... Nerds Unite!!!! Check out some pics after the jump...

Symbolic Movie Posters by Rocco Malatesta

I came across artist Rocco Malatesta's work over at Super Punch when they featured his killer Reservoir Dogs poster and had to delve a bit deeper to see what his work was all about. I was blown away when I saw what he had to offer for sale on his page. He has some great pieces, especially his hand collection (you will know what I am talking about when you see it on his page) and countless other symbolic movie posters that he has on the page. Rocco takes one key element of the movie and then compliments it with small unique touches that make each one quite unique and dope in their own right. Click here to view & buy all of his works and click after the jump to see the ones I liked the best...

Gallery 1988 Presents Crazy 4 Cult In NYC... And CCD Was There!!!

The CCD crew decided to venture into Manhattan and check out the Gallery 1988 art show Craxzy 4 Cult for ourselves on its opening night last week. It is a dope show, and my only knock on it was that it was in too small a space. People who were waiting to buy prints and pieces formed a line along one whole side of the gallery and prevented people from seeing that half of the show. But for the pieces that I did get a shot to see... all I can say is wow! There are some great pieces in the show, and I had to bust out the camera on my tablet to take some photos for all of you guys to see for yourself. It was crazy packed and hard to take pics, but I did my best. Not all of these will appear online (some are featured over at gallery 1988's website and many other sites like ours) so this might be the only chance you get to see it. The show runs through September, so try and get down to 64 Ganservoort St. and see the magnificent work for yourself. Check out my pics after the jump...

Win A Pair Of ParaNorman Nikes By Proving How Weird You Were As A Kid

I love me a cross promotional contest, especially one that can net me a pair of sweet ass limited edition Nikes. The promotion I am referring to has to do with the release of the upcoming movie ParaNorman. Nike wants to see what weird pics you have from when you were a kid. All you have to do is Tweet that photo with the hashtag #WeirdWins and you will be entered in the contest to win one of the 800 pairs of ParaNorman Foamposites that feature sick details from the film. They are extremely unique and since Foamposites are super popular and these are so limited they will probably fetch a pretty penny on the secondary market. You can click here to see all the details about the contest over on the Nike page and you can see some detailed pics after the jump...

Star Wars High by Denis Medri

While Star Wars is plodding on as a franchise, I certainly would be open to seeing some of its characters re-interpreted in other situations. How about as an 80's High School sitcom? Yup, I would love to see that for sure! These sketches from artist Denis Medri portray a world that I certainly would love to see on a TV screen. I love how he humanizes the no-human characters (like the Droids, Jaba & Chewy). And the Dark Side as a motorcycle gang? Perfect Idea!!!! These are just awesome and you can see them all right after the jump...

'Raiders Of The Lost Ark' Is Coming To Imax & Blu-Ray... Will It Be Worth The Trip?

I am a bit late to the game when it comes to Imax. I saw some early movies in Imax (Batman Begins, Transformers, etc) and then didn't go back to the Imax format again for awhile. That all changed with my trip to see The Dark Knight Rises in all its Imaxed glory. While the film looked wonderful and sounded amazing, I have to be honest when I say that I was turned off by one specific problem: The Price. The tickets here in NYC cost $22 dollars for an Imax film, whether its a matinee show or a show after 5. That is super expensive, and not including the surcharge that would be added if the film was 3-D. That would be at least 5 bucks more. That is a lot of money to see a film, especially when I can buy and own a Blu-Ray for under 15 bucks and watch it more than once on my high def TV at home. I said that if I ever go to see a Imax film again, it would have to be something special. Well, I didn't think it would be so soon, but it looks like I will be there at an Imax screen this September. Raiders of the Lost Ark has gone through the conversion process and will be appearing on Imax screens for one week from September 7-13th! Steven Spielberg is raving about how great his original film looks and I am excited to see one of my favorite movies of all time looking sharp and sounding wonderful. The full Indy set also comes out on Blu-Ray, and to celebrate that AMC will be having a marathon of all four films (not in Imax, just regular) on September 15th! Get over to the Imax or AMC Theater website (or wherever you buy movie tickets online) and reserve yours now. You can see the trailer after then jump...

'Ghost Tits'- Now This Is The Film That I Want To See Olivia Munn In!!!

No one will ever question if we love Olivia Munn over here at CCD. Trust me, no one gets more love than my beloved Asian kumquat on my site. But she is getting better and better in her role on The Newsroom over at HBO and her movie The Babymakers is getting great reviews, so we will probably being seeing much more from her as a lead actress in the future. Why not tackle a Shyamlan/Hitchcock/Kubrick-esque noir thriller in which her beloved rack of boobage happens to disappear thanks to a possessed polka dot bra? This parody video comes from the fine folks over at Above Average and is pretty hysterical. It also features Mr. Feeney from Boy Meets World, so there is that. I love the little subtle nods to psychological thrillers of the past such as the "closing door" shots and the "screaming and twirling in a circle" shots. Watch the video after the jump and lets hope that Ms. Munn's tits never go anywhere!!!!

These Dexter x Look/See Sun Glasses Will Turn Some Heads... And Maybe Get You Questioned By The Police!!!

I love me some Dexter. I have watched every season of the show and I am gearing up to blow through the original novels as we speak now that they are on my tablet in a digital format (thanks for that little extra Joe Fletch!). Usually we see some cross over merchandise to help promote a brand and a show, but rarely do you run across a product as cool as these sunglasses from Look/See that are clearly Dexter related. They might not be for everyone given the fact that they are white and feature blood splatters all over... but the set is actually quite impressive for the super Dexter fan in your life! They are limited to 500 sets and each set comes with the glasses, a carry case, a blood slide storage case that actually features removable slides (wtf?) and is individually numbered (1/500, 2/500, etc). The glasses also fetaure little nods to the show like the small syringe on the inside bar of the glasses. You might get stopped and questioned for wearing these, but the only summons you will get is for being fresh to death! you can order them by clicking here and see many more detailed pics of the glasses after the jump....

Even Disney Princesses Can Be Self Conscious...

You gotta love the Venezuelan's and there willy-nilly attitude toward plastic surgery. Seems like they are not above using beloved children's characters such as Ariel the Little Mermaid and Prince Eric to extol the wonders of plastic surgery. You also gotta love the tagline that the ads use: "We make fairytales come true". I have to be honest with you... I think they are on to something. It might be a bit hard for a chick to sell her family on the fact that her fiance is prince trapped in a frogs body. But if he goes under the knife and comes out looking like Drew Lachey? Yup, much easier to accept. Check the three pictures in the set from the Venezuelan ad company Zea BBDO after the jump...

Get Out & Support Gallery 1988's Crazy 4 Cult: New York Show... Now!!!

I have often admired the many zanny art show themes that are put forth by Gallery 1988 in California... but due to logistical locational limitations (say that three times fast!) , aka the gallery is in California & I live in New York, I have never been ale to get out and see one of their shows for myself. but all of that comes to an end tonight as I plan on attending the opening night at the first show in NYC today! The gallery is opening up a pop up store at 64 Ganservoort St tonight at 6pm and the show runs until September 1st. The pieces are leaking online and look amazing. CCD will be in the house tonight, so come down and meet up with the crew. Check out a few of the pieces I have seen online after the jump to kind of wet your beak and make sure you get out to this show at some point so that we get more of these satellite shows in the future...

'This Is 40' - Judd Apatow Is Back At It Again!!!!

Not everyone loves Judd Apatow's style of comedy, but I for one am a fan. While he has had massive hits with films like The 40 Year Old Virgin & Bridesmaids, my favorite work of his is Knocked Up. This is where we saw Seth Rogen become a star, is the only film that Katherine Hiegel has made since she left Grey's Anatomy that did not annoy me, and is fucking hilarious because it is so much like real life. But the part of the movie that absolutely stole the show was the supporting cast of up & coming all stars & vets that all blew the fuck up after the movie. Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Jay Barucel, Jason Segal, Harold Ramis, Joanna Kerns, Craig Robinson... the list goes on and on!!! But the absolute scene stealers of the movie have to be Apatow's wife in real life Leslie Mann & his two real life children Iris & Maude Apatow, who play Rudd's loving wife and children. There family dynamic is so amazing and they are hilarious. So Apatow has decided that instead of a sequel that would focus on Rogen & Hiegel's new life as parents and instead decides to focus on Rudd & Mann's family instead. Here is the trailer for 'This Is 40'. Looks good to me... Trailer after the jump, movie coming out this Christmas. Can you say counter-programming to The Hobbit? I certainely can...

Family Time by Chris Murray

Pop culture artists face the challenge of trying to portray popular characters in new & interesting environments. That is what makes for a truly memorable piece. Chris Murray did just that with his entry into the I Am 8Bit Gallery's upcoming Street Fighter 25th anniversary art show. He chose two mainstays of the Street Fighter franchise, Chun Li & Guile, but portrayed them as proud parents watching their child rattle the joystick of a coin op game. Gotta love the originality of it all... You can see more of the upcoming stuff from teh gallery by clicking here, more of Chad Murray's work here, and catch the Family Time piece as well as an early sketch of the product after the jump...

The Wonderful Geometric Art of Ale Giorgini

The trouble with all the artists flooding the Internet with their work is that they all seem to be taking on the same source material. How many Star Wars, Ghostbusters, or Goonies posters have you seen? No matter how cool or original they are, they tend to get a bit repedetive. But artist extraordinaire Ale Giorgini has developed an interesting geometrical style that makes his artistic work pop in a way that forgives the familiar subject matter. According to Giorgini's website he will be having a gallery show at Bottleneck Gallery in NYC. I for one will be checking it out... how about you? You can check out Giorgini's Society 6 page by clicking here and see some of my faves after the jump...

Breaking Bad Double Play

I am completely enamored with Breaking Bad right now. I watched all of season 4 immediately after it was made available on netflix and I would be willing to stack that season of episodes up against just about any other shows individual season of all time. I think it was a tour de force for creator Vince Gillian and mad em efeel really great about watching TV for the first time in a while. So for all my fellow Breaking Baddies out there, here is a little double play worth of action. First up I have a cool as split screen poster of Mr. White & Hiesenberg from artist Shadowtuga that highlights both sides of the complex character that is Walter White. Next up, there is a cool ass video featuring the wit & wisdom of Mike, probably one of my favorite characters on the whole show. So wonderful. Enjoy both of them after the jump and lets see how this final season plays out....

'Debating Kids With Zach & Will' - Funny or Die Strikes Again!!!!

I am eagerly on the edge of my seat awaiting 'The Campaign'. It is my sleeper summer hit, my 'Scott Pilgrim' of two years ago & my 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' from last year... movies that should be great, look great, but aren't hyped up as much as the big popcorn flicks of the summer. Getting a comedy featuring Zach Galifiianakis & Will Ferrell in which they are battling each other in a hotly contested political race? Yup... I am in. To promote the movie Will & Zach are acting completely like themselves and taking on children in a mock debate over at Funny or Die. Once again Funny or Die does not disappoint!!! This is a hysterical video that you need to watch if you like these two. The Campaign comes out August 10th. You can see the Funny or Die video after the jump...

Moon Knight by Jason Reeves & Luis Guerrero

I am loving the work that is getting turned in over at the The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Reduxe Edition, a blog that is challenging artists to recreate classic profile pics of all of the Marvel Universe's characters. Artists have turned in over 150+ renditions of the heroes & villains, and all of them are quite unique in their own special way. But I came across one today that blew my mind since it was one of my favorite obscure characters done in a bad ass style that he deserves. Jason Reeves & Luis Guerrero turned in one hell of a Moon Knight, turning him into the bad ass hybrid ninja-esque character I certainly would love to see him as. I also love that they kept most of the iconic look of the character while adding little touches, like the Nolan Batman styled body armor and the crescent moon on the mask. Very well done. You can see the full project by clicking here and she the Moon Knight piece after the jump....

'The Dark Knight Rages' - Does Batman Ever Game Rage?

I love all the Batman fan video that have been hitting the Net in the wake of the release of The Dark Knight Rises. They have been awesome, and vary from gritty fan films (Batman: Nightwing) to awesome stop motion films featuring toys (Batman: Dark Knightfall) to awesome parody music videos like Remember Bane... They are all one better than the next. But today's entry brings us one of the more humorous ones I have seen so far. Check out The Dark Knight Rages after the jump, which takes a look at what really happens back at Wayne Manor with Robin when they are trying to kick back and relax a bit. The results are priceless....

'The Return of Mr. Plinkett' - Red Letter Media Takes On The Orginal Star Wars

Mr. Plinkett and the gang over at Red Letter Media became quite famous (or should I say infamous) for their scalding critiques of the three Star Wars prequels. Their diatribes are the blueprint for all Internet complaint videos and are legendary when it comes to geek culture. I always wondered why people love to bash new inclinations of old franchises (the Prequels, Prometheus, Wolverine Origins, etc) while revering the old material as if it were perfect. How come these guys don't pick apart the classics like they do the new films? Maybe because they don't want to admit that you can find fault in just about anything if you look hard enough. Well, Mr. Plinkett has decided to do just that, albeit in a bit of a different fashion. Instead of blasting every frame by frame VIDEO of the original Star Wars in a similar fashion that he did the prequels, Plinkett has created an audio track to accompany the original film. It is 2 hours long and from what I have read over at /Film is a bit easier on the criticism (not surprising there), but my interest is definitely piqued and I will eventually sync this up with the film to see Plinkett's thoughts. I would like them to go old school RLM and do a full on video for the first three SW films though. My guess is they won't because they will then lose credibility when they don't blast silly things like the Ewoks and the most deadly bounty hunter in the world dying via trip and fall.... but that is just my opinion. Shaun of Rage by Aled Lewis

I am getting super pumped up for the upcoming Crazy 4 Cult show here in NYC. The Gallery 1988 show opens this Thursday at the Gallery 1988 pop up shop and will run until September 1st. These shows always feature amazing mashup pieces from some of the greatest artists in the game and blow my mind consistently. The first piece I am featuring from the show (pieces are already starting to leak online) comes from Aled Lewis (one of the best doing it right now) and is a mashup of the side scrolling fighting game classic Streets of Rage with Edgar Wright's awesome zombie thriller Shaun of the Dead. I love seeing Shaun and Ed kicking zombie ass outside of the Winchester Pub. Sick piece from a sick collection. Can't wait to see the show opening night on Thursday!!!! Check out Lewis's piece after the jump...

'Tetsuo: The Iron Man & Bullet Man' FINALLY Gets A HD Release... Japanese Cult Film Lovers Rejoice!!!!

I have a very weird and eclectic taste in films. My Top 10 film list would make most peoples heads spin (I MIGHT just post this list someday) because my choices would be so against the grain. I love mainstream Hollywood movies, movies with big stars, and commercial films as much as the next guy... but give me a weird indy film, especially a foreign indy film, and I will love it to death!!!! Enter Tetsuo: The Iron Man, one of the freakiest fucking movies I have EVER seen in my entire life. It comes from director Shinya Tsukamoto, who is a legend in the Japanese film industry. The movie is a bizarre trip down the rabbit hole and features some of the sickest scenes I have ever seen on film. It spawned two sequels as well, Tetsuo: The Body Hammer and Tetsuo: The Bullet Man. The Body Hammer just took the franchise to the next level and now the first two films (Iron Man & Body Hammer) will be released in High Definition Blu Ray format for the first time ever... and I for one can't wait to see this film burst off the screen. They hit in October and a cool ass trailer has been put together for this release. Hopefully the third film will follow soon (It is currently streaming on Netflix). If you like weird cult films and have never seen this one, get on it ASAP. Check out the trailer after the jump...

'Bond... James Bond' - Series 1 Posters by David O'Daniel

I have always been a James Bond fanboy. It is probably my oldest and most cherished film series, right after the original Pink Panther films. I love every actor who has played Bond, but in my opinion Roger Moore is the greatest one to ever drink a martini as the secret agent. Despite the fact that there have been 23 official Bond films, 2 unofficial Bond films (Never Say Never Again & Casino Royale with Sellers & Niven), 6 actors have starred in the role, and countless other spoofs and cameos people still love the franchise to death!!! With Bond 23, aka Skyfall on the horizon artist David O'Daniel is creating an excellent series of his metallic posters for San Francisco's Castro Theater. He is releasing posters to honor ALL 23 of the Bond films and is starting with series 1 which will consist of Thunderball, Goldfinger, Live and Let Die, and Dr. No. These posters are just gorgeous, and would make a wonderful addition to any Bond fans collection. You can always keep track of O'Daniel's work over at his blog Alien Corset and you can see pictures of the first series after the jump...
